RouteThe excursion begins in Puerto Ayora, from where we travel by land to the Itabaca Channel, located north of Santa Cruz Island. At this point, we board the boat assigned for the trip to North Seymour Island, located approximately 45 minutes away.

Once we arrived on North Seymour Island, we prepared with our guide for the approximately one-and-a-half-hour hike over rocky, rugged terrain formed by ancient volcanic sediments.

During the hike, we explored a unique, arid ecosystem characterized by cacti and plants native to the island. Along the trail, we observed land iguanas, blue-footed boobies, frigate birds elegantly circling the area, and boobies performing their familiar courtship rituals. The proximity of these birds, which have no fear of humans, provides a unique experience of close contact with wildlife.

Duration: Approximately 8 hours

Departure time: 7:40 am

Departure Location: Meeting point

Snorkeling in Bachas: You can enjoy a white sand beach and turquoise water, where you can see flamingos in the lagoon.

Sighting: Sea turtles, blue-footed boobies, frigates.

During the journey, we make a stop offshore, in an area especially renowned for its marine life. There, we have the opportunity to snorkel and appreciate the biodiversity of the underwater ecosystem up close, surrounded by tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, and other fascinating species.

After our visit to the island, we returned to the boat and continued our journey to Playa Las Bachas, located on Santa Cruz Island. There, we enjoyed a well-deserved rest on a white-sand beach with crystal-clear waters, the perfect setting for relaxing after an unforgettable day.
